March 30 – April 2, Kent Williams will offer a “hands on” bee school at his farm from 9:00 – 5:00 CT each day. The location of the Williams home/farm is 580 state route 385N, Wingo, KY 42088. The school will include working in live beehives so all participants are advised to bring and utilize protective gear.
The exact topics covered will depend on the interests of participants and will include all levels of beekeeping from beginner to advanced. General topics usually covered include different methods of queen rearing, pest and disease recognition and treatment options, basic and advanced colony inspections, finding/catching/marking queens, installing packages, making splits/nucs, equipment selection, and any additional topics that are requested. Participants may come and go throughout the day.
The Williams will provide lunch to all participants. There is no cost or registration for the school; however, donations to help cover the cost of the food are accepted, but not required. For more information contact Kent Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org.
