It’s that time of year again. The time when many local organizations begin planning beekeeping schools, workshops, and other events for next year. As you begin making those plans, I want to remind everyone that I am happy to share those events on the KSBA website, calendar, Facebook page, and through our mailing list.
If you would like me to help announce an upcoming beekeeping-related event, please send a paragraph or two with the relevant information to firstname.lastname@example.org. We can also post schedules, registration forms, etc. The schedules, registration forms, etc. need to be saved as a Word document or as a pdf. The general information about the event (date, time, location, summary of event, etc.) needs to be sent in the body of an email or as a Word document. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Also, please note that the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) and the Kentucky State Beekeepers Association (KSBA) are two different entities. Our state apiarist, Tammy Horn Potter, is with KDA and publishes the monthly BeeLines newsletter. Sharing your information with her does not guarantee that it will be listed on the KSBA website, just like sharing your information with me does not guarantee it will be listed on the KDA sites. We try to share information about upcoming events but we are both busy and sometimes forget to forward emails. Your best bet to get the widest coverage for announcing your event is to copy both Tammy and I on the email with your event’s information.
