Message from Certified Honey Manager

As 2019 comes to an end, I would like to thank you for all your support to the Certified Kentucky Honey Producers. It is also time to renew your membership if you have not already done so.

2019 has been a productive year for the program. We have enrolled 108 producers (representing 51 counties), 1,690 hives and accounted for 32,775 lbs. of honey for the 2018 year.

Additionally, the KSBA Board has reached over 2000 beekeepers through Bee Club meetings (52, some multiple times) and Bee schools (13).

The state fair was a great success yielding total sales of $39,896 for Certified Producers ($57,370 for total for all producers and $10,433.96 in candy and other products). Details of the fair can be viewed in the October Bee Lines.

My focus for this winter will be promotion of the program to the general public and the formulation of marketing for Certified Producers to use.

I highly encourage you to like our Facebook page at Certified Kentucky Honey@KSBAbeekeepers and visit the KSBA website to create an account (please select I am already a member for the payment option) to receive notifications from the KSBA.

I wish you a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to working with you in 2020.
