Beginner Beekeeper Survival 2024

Joint Multi-Club Beginner Beekeeping School

Feb. 17 - Oldham Co. @ Foxhollow Farm

Feb. 25 - Bullitt Co. Extension Office

March 2- Louisville Nature Center

March 9 - Spencer Co. Extension Office

Back for its third year, the Beginner Beekeeper Survival School packages the bare essentials you need to have a successful first year of beekeeping.

This joint program includes Spencer, Bullitt, Kentuckiana and Oldham bee clubs in the greater Louisville KY area. Attendees do not have to be members of any of the aforementioned clubs or counties.

This 16 hour program was created to meet a recurring need, to prepare beginners for their first year of beekeeping! By setting up a joint program, we are able to integrate and educate these beginners in an organized manner. We are limited to 50 seats by our venues.

Sessions are $15/person/session, non-refundable. Non-refundable registration is used to reduce "seat holding" and no-shows at these limited seating events. Session schedule is subject to change though the current dates and times have been confirmed with all parties: those registered will receive immediate notice of changes and refunds are permitted for those events. Registration fees are divvied as follows: $12 to hosting club, $3 to Oldham for event scheduling and processing fees. With registration, payments are processed through Stripe, with payment to "OC Beekeepers" for all sessions. Oldham divides up proceeds and issues payment for the individual sessions to the clubs after the programs' conclusion on basis of seats reserved. Hosts are responsible for the venue, safety, and content. Site hosts, at their discretion, may allow additional private attendees.
