Hopefully, all have heard about the devasting honey bee predator invasive species Yellow Legged Hornet (YLH) that is 200 miles from Kentucky. It's effectively established in Georgia & South Carolina. Kentucky State Apiarist Dr. Amanda Skidmore is hosting a learning session on Tues. April 7 at 7 p.m. Below is her flyer and Zoom sign in. ALL are welcome, even if you are not in Kentucky.
It's going to take all of us working together to keep YLH from killing 30% of our hives like it's doing in France. Ugh. YLH is here to stay so we need to join Amanda's citizen science so we know WHEN it gets to Kentucky and hold their populations low.
